Oh, you know there has to be rules, so here goes:
- The exchange is on a 1:2 ratio, meaning for every 2 times your banner is shown on a page, your banner will be shown on someone else's page once.
- Only one account per site. If you have multiple pages to your site, you will be using the same account number, but just modifying the code for each page you want a banner on. (If you need help with this, ask.)
- Only Lion King sites will be allowed. Sites about one of the characters (or any Lion King related fan art characters) will be allowed. Also, any inappropriate Lion King sites will not be allowed - child/family friendly sites only!
- If you own a general Disney site, you will not be allowed to join unless you have an entire page/section dedicated to The Lion King or one of the characters, and the banner is on that page.
- ...which leads into...banners must be on at least the main/entry page to your site. This is necessary for tracking purposes. So, in other words, the web address you're signing up this service for should be the one where the banner will be located.
- You must have a banner - this is a banner exchange, after all. (In other words, if you submit an application without a banner, even if you have a valid site, it will not be in the program.)
- I will not be hosting images. You will have to provide a valid address to where your banner is already located. There is no upload feature.
- All banners must be 468x60. No exceptions. Animated are ok.
- All sites and banners have to be approved before being put into banner rotation.
- The only "advertising" that will show up on these banners other than the Lion King sites, is from the company that is hosting this banner exchange script. This instance will be very few and far between (about 3% of the banners shown.) But, since this is a free service, you can't really complain.

Banner Assistance
Having trouble with your banner? This section may provide some help.
If you've already made a banner, uploaded it to a host, and it still doesn't show, check out these things:
- Make sure you've typed the address correctly. Also, make sure you've typed the file name correctly. Some hosts are case sensitive, so PICTURE.GIF, Picture.gif and PiCtUrE.gif would all be different files!
- Your host might be the problem why your banner is coming up "broken". If your host doesn't allow remote loading, this will happen. Some hosts try to do this to prevent you from using too much bandwidth. GeoCities is one prime example of this. If you are a GeoCities member, you'll need to find at least another server to host your banner. If you use any free web page provider, your best bet is to check their rules (or Terms or Service - TOS.)
Don't have a banner yet, but are not graphic savvy enough to make one? Here are some suggestions on obtaining one:
- Take a try at making one! It's not that difficult. My suggestion for a great graphic program is Jasc's Paint Shop Pro. There is a free trial version of this program, available for like 30 days of use, on the site from the link I just referenced. I've been using this program for years.
- Use a free online banner generator. Some suggestions are provided here:
MediaBuilder's 3D BannerGenerator
Animation.com
Quick Banner (some are free, more advanced is a charge)
- I have a service on my other site, The Lion King Pride, which provides one free custom graphic per site. Click here for more details.
If you are willing to make free banners for those who cannot make them, I'd like to start a volunteer program on this site. To have your name, email, and web site address listed on this area as a volunteer, please email me at knarrly@hotmail.com
